Description

I live in the Philippines where there is no autumn. I and my siblings dream of visiting Japan during its autumn season. This is how I think the visit will look like. My first diorama ever. I am hoping for the best for this piece.

Materials:
-styrofoam
-dry leaves
-alcohol markers
-plaster of paris
-folders
-sponges
-watercolor and goache
-toothpicks
-papers
-colored pencils
-gravel
-soil
-clay
-glue
-sandpaper
-shoebox
-miniature car
-miniature people
-miniature bushes

Step 1

- 1 inch styrofoam boards were stacked and carved to draft the slope.

Step 2

- the styrofoam surface was colored brown using an alcohol marker.

Step 3

- dry leaves from our yard were torn and glued to the surface of the styrofoam.

Step 4

- Trees were made using sponges, painted with watercolor, skewered with toothpicks.

Step 5

- Plaster was applied on the slope and carved to mimic rocks

Step 6

- Gravel was glued to the ground, the plaster was painted gray using watercolor.

Step 7

- gray Clay was molded into stairs and temple foundation

Step 8

- the road (sandpaper), bushes, and other articles were glued onto the ground.

Step 9

-The temples were constructed using folders. They were colored using alcohol based markers and goache paint.

Step 10

- the arch was made of colored toothpicks and folders.

Step 11

- the background was made by gluing watercolor paper on the shoebox and painting the background on.

Step 12

- soil from our yard was glued onto the pathways and temple grounds and voila! our dream visit to Japan. :D

Ha, nice :) I love these, when I was small I kept collecting various props and making landscapes, although only flat. Always lacking trees, I wanted to know how to make them... but was too lazy to learn, though :D I can tell you had some

Looking through the entries, I really hope yours will be in the 25 winners! :) It's sad that so few bother to polish what others will see. Take at least one good photo, edit it, and spend some time the whole picture. Sounds easy...
